These are a few of my favorite parts of being a SOUTHERN belle:
- No matter what state I’m in, I’m in a SOUTHERN state of mind.
- “Bless your heart.”
- Welcome to the SOUTH! Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter…
- 3 secrets to speaking like a SOUTHERN lady:
- Take your own sweet time
- Bat your eyelashes slowly and speak at the same tempo
- Add syllables whenever possible
- You know you’re from the SOUTH when you own at least thing from Vineyard Vines or Lilly Pulitzer.
- Oh honey, a monogram makes everything better.
- Northerners call it football. SOUTHERNERS call it competing for the National championship.
- The North makes Vineyard Vines, Brooks Brothers, and Polo. The SOUTH makes Vineyard Vines, Brooks Brothers, and Polo look good.
- Oh honey, down here in the south, it’s not the heat—it’s the humidity.
- The SOUTH. Where the last “g” is silent in about 99.9% of words. Just sayin’.
- SOUTHERN belle secrets:
- We love seersucker.
- Front porches are wide and words are long.
- We all know the words to “Sweet Home Alabama” just like we know The Lord’s Prayer.
- You monogram everything.
- Close the door. You are letting all the mosquitoes in.
- Manners are not optional.
